Since 1990, our Guatemalan travel agency has been based in the heart of the Maya region. Over the years, Mayaexplor has been repeatedly recommended by leading travel guides covering Central America, including Lonely Planet, Footprint, Ulysse, Guide du Routard, Le Petit Futé, Gallimard, and Hachette.

Our offices are located in Quetzaltenango, in the Guatemalan highlands, at the center of local Maya life. For more than 30 years, we have been designing tailor-made journeys without intermediaries. Our long-standing experience and in-depth knowledge of the region allow us to create personalized itineraries that reflect your interests, travel style, and expectations.

For many years, several well-established European travel agencies have entrusted us with the design, organization, and on-the-ground support of their tours. We operate our own fleet of vehicles, adapted to each type of journey. This includes comfortable and spacious cars for couples, minibuses ideal for families or groups of friends, and 4x4 vehicles for more remote or off-road areas.

Our sales team has an in-depth, first-hand knowledge of Guatemala, Mexico, and Central America, and extensive experience managing every aspect of travel logistics. Many members of our team are also experienced field guides — committed professionals with a strong understanding of the terrain, capable of adapting each itinerary to your expectations and travel style.
